Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson was the most-watched combat sports event in the history of the world. That is a testament to Mike Tyson being Mike Tyson and Jake Paul’s promotional skills. However, Netflix may be facing some issues because of it.

Due to the fight being on Netflix and free to all 100 million subscribers, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that it would blow all the others out of the water in terms of stream numbers. And that it did, hitting 65 million households at its peak.

However, Netflix is now facing some issues after the many issues suffered by fans during the fight. Heavy buffering during the main event caused many subscribers to miss the fight. And it seems as though Netflix’s bout will be in the courtroom.

According to multiple reports, Netflix is currently being sued in Florida by a man named Ronald ‘Blue’ Denton for breach of contract after he suffered constant glitching and buffering during the big dance between Paul and Tyson.

Will Netflix Win It’s Lawsuit In Florida?

Netflix did comment on the issues the stream faced during the highly anticipated bout between the YouTuber turned prizefighter and the 58-year-old boxing legend. “This unprecedented scale created many technical challenges, which the launch team tackled brilliantly by prioritizing stability of the stream for the majority of viewers,” claimed Elizabeth Stone, a Netflix executive.

“I’m sure many of you have seen the chatter in the press and on social media about the quality issues,” she mentioned before adding, “‘we don’t want to dismiss the poor experience of some members and know we have room for improvement but still consider this event a huge success.”

While the lawsuit is filed, Netflix has yet to comment on the ordeal. That being said, it’s unknown whether the Florida courts will allow this lawsuit to go forward or whether Netflix will have to lose some cash. Either way, the event will be considered a success.
